I know I will get answers saying I just need to try some out at a store, but I just want to know what to look for. I’ve only been golfing for about a year and have a solid swing, still working on being consistent with my irons but my drive and putting have improved greatly, but I am using my dad’s clubs he got a couple years back, he moved to hybrids, but I’ve been told I should try something else because I have to bend over so much when I use my irons since I am 6′2”. I’ve been looking through TGW’s catalog and find so many clubs saying they will help accuracy and forgiveness, I just need need ideas of what specific clubs to look into. I am thinking some TaylorMade irons and a Nike SQ Dymo2 driver and maybe woods… Help me out fellas…
I am definitely going to try out different clubs, but yeah, Mizuno irons was another option definitely, I hear the same things about them a lot, problem around here is there’s no good pro shop unless I travel a couple hours which of course will probably be worth it in the long run over blindly buying new clubs. I would never buy a car without test driving it first.

I am going to be entering my first ever golf tournament (fourball specifically), and just wanted to advice on how i can be more accurate, more relaxed, and possibly much much longer off the tee!!?? Thanks. (P.S: I have a tendency to have inconsitencies in my swing with the position of my left thumb moving from 1 o clock which is neutral, to 12 o clock, and therefore, i have to close the clubface to get consistency, which is pathetic!!!)
Thanks for your answers, but what about my left thumb position, and open clubface problem. I really need some consistency..

Hey,
I’m in the market for some new irons and I have done plenty of research. I have decided to go with either the MX-19’s or MX-25’s. I shoot in the 80s-90s and have a high swing speed and am improving very fast. I’m 21 and a natural athlete and have been golfing for over a year now and I just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions on these two iron sets. I heard more praise over the MX-25’s but the MX-19’s are obviously cheaper. If anyone can help me decide if the price is worth it for the MX-25’s or if the MX-19’s are just as good and worth the price it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Paul
Ps. I am a lefty so it’s impossible to find clubs and I will not be able to hit them before I buy them.

Hi ive just turned 16 5 days ago and have been playing golf for 4 months now. I have a junior membership at a club and the par there is 68. Im hitting between 80 and 85 but feel as thought ive not had a good round yet. I did play a round which I felt I made not as much mistakes and got a 76 but no one was with me to confirm it so my m8ts dont believe me and i could do better if I just cut out the silly little mistakes. So I imagine that by christmas I will be hitting low 70’s as I dont think Ive worked out the kinks in my game yet. When I started I was hitting well over 100 (like 125’s) so as you can see I have improved quite alot. I live like a 10 min walk from a driving range and right next to that is my golf club so you can imagine I will have alot of Access. I have had no lessons just people I have met whilst playing have given me a few tips but my swing is fine (from what I have been told) and I drive about 240-260. I was just wondering if you think that my efforts and money will be wasted and also is it too late to become a pro. If you think I can become a pro then can you tell me how?? If im not too old to give it a shot I will be completely dedicated to it and my mum, dad and my dad’s friends who play golf will support me as well.
Thanks for bbeing honest lol. I just did not want to spend alot on lessons and good clubs if it was going to be a waste of money. Although I will keep it up as a hobby.

Recently on the course,a guy told me I have a good swing.I let him play with me so he didn’t have to wait,so I didn’t know if he was just being nice.Come to find out, he’s not only a scratch golfer, but he used to work for a company that video taped swing footage,so he had a great deal of credibility. He advised me to stand closer, and backswing closer to my ear rather than out.I got some quick results, immediately hit my best hybrid shot ever (only been golfing since last summer),but today almost everything went right, far and high, but slice. What more can I do?I haven’t been clocked, but I believe I have a fairly fast swing.I’m 30, and have been athletic all my life. I use a Nike Sasquatch with what I believe to be stiff flex. That’s what I requested when I ordered it and it has a small red sticker with an ‘S’ on the shaft and near the heal. Normally tee up in line w/ my left foot. What can I do to improve my chances of squaring the clubface at impact? Also, bad ball contact w/o tee

I was thinking of buying a Adams Golf a3 hybrid/iron set to replace my macgregor 1996 era clubs.
I am still a new golfer, only played 1 season in 1996 and recently started playing again. I started this spring on a league fresh, without a single swing prior to the 1st tee box. I did horrible, as you can imagine, and have rapidly improved to 45 for 9 holes. (bogey golf)
Would the new technology sets with hybrids be worth the $300.00 dollars over my old set? I cannot hit the 3 – 5 irons in my old set, so I was thinking the hybrids might bridge that gap. A single hybrid costs $100 so, maybe a whole new set might be better?
Or should I just wait and see where my game ends up, since I am still improving?

The clubs I have now are awful, sheap ones and I know they’re hurting my game. I really need new clubs. But I really think I need to take some lessons to get my swing straightened out too. What should I do first and why? Also, any recommendations as far as what clubs I should get? I’ve been told that game improvement would be my best bet? I really want to improve my game and start shooting in the 80’s and really start enjoying playing golf instead of getting pissed off because I can’t play consistently. Any advice, tips, etc. would be great. Thanks.

Can I even make my high school golf team? There are about 500 kids at my high school. I’m going to be a freshman. I have tryouts the 17th. I’m taking golf lessons now. What should I do to prepare for tryouts? I practice my swing everyday and I go to the driving range twice a week. I can drive about 150 with my driver. What can I do to improve? I’m so nervous; I don’t even want to go to tryouts because I’m so afraid of embarassing myself and not getting on the team. btw im a girl
I’m 5′ 7″, b/w 115-120 lbs. Is my drive good? I’m pretty good at chipping and putting; I just have trouble getting it up the fairway.
what should i expect at tryouts?
