I have been playing all summer and I am starting to realize the negative effects in the quality of my clubs. I am currently using a set of cheap Pro Simmons (Icon) clubs off of ebay. Graphite shafts. Regular Flex. I am wanting a set of clubs I can “grow into” if thats possible. Money isnt a big deal. I golf with guys of moderate eperience, and I feel I could improve with a better quality set of clubs. They suggest Taylormades. I am at a disadvantage due to geographic area. The closest place to try clubs in a demo area is an hour and a half away. I am 5′6” around 205 with a fairly fast swing speed. Any suggestions on a maker I should look into. I kind of like the r7’s but I am open to any suggestions and opinions.
hey everyone im going in to 9th grade and want to get into a division 1 school. I shoot int he mid 80’s but can deffently shoot in the high 70’s when i can improve my chipping. I went to golf camp for 2 years and going to keep all of my swings from v1 and send it to the coach. If i compete in 10-12 tournaments and place like 5th 8th 1st 2nd aound those and play on my golf team can i make division one. I am playing golf every day now improving my game. any advice from HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS OR COLLAGE PLAYERS? Please dont tell me that ur 13 and can shoot low 70’s only 5% of golfers in the world can brake 78. i also drive the ball 240 on average and hit my clubs pretty far such as 7 iron 150

I’ve only played for a few months and I’m starting to improve…and I’ve been told I have a naturally good swing. I’m good for a beginner I suppose….but I’m still really nervous! Practice is monday and I worry that people will laugh at me. There’s this girl Lauren who is my age and she’s really cocky because she always shoots in the low 70s and she’s basically the best on the time. I’ve heard the horror stories about her – she’s a sore loser and just soaks up all this attention from the coaches. The other day when one of the coaches mentioned I would be on the time she shot me this nasty glare….
I’m so afraid! Sometimes I can par but sometimes I get too nervous and I completely miss the ball! Our school doesn’t have much golfers so I get to automatically be on JV….you only have to try out for Varsity. I have a few friends on the time but urghhhhhh.
How do I get over this? Have you guys ever felt the same way?

I just started golfing 4 months ago and was wondering what you would recommend for the type of flex for golf clubs. I’m 31, very athletic and strong, but i don’t know what my swing speed is.
I want to get stiff flex because i want to grow into the golf clubs some day. I think it’s pointless to get regular flex when someday i will need to get stiff flex as I improve.
I just started golfing a couple weeks ago and took a few lessons. Like most beginners, I occasionally have a mean slice. I’ve also been using my dads clubs that are probably dated back to the mid 80’s.
I know that if I purchase newer clubs, it should help improve distance and (depending on my swing) accuracy.
I hear people telling me to purchase “game improvement clubs” that are “forgiving”, but I kind of feel like I would be cheating myself out of actually learning to hit the ball. Golf is not necessarily something you pick up on the first day unless you are a freak of nature. People have been working on their swing for decades.
I feel like if I purchase “game improvement clubs” and get really good with them, that when it comes time to purchase tour type clubs that aren’t so forgiving, my shot would be horrible because I let the clubs correct my swing rather than let ME correct my swing.
I would actually want someone to convince me otherwise because I hate playing with these old clubs…
Should I still invest in game improvement clubs or should I perfect my swing first.
Ok. I am young. 17. and a 6 handicap. I can really kill my ball and get good distance but I play with a very good senior player who is telling me to slow down on the swing. Also, ever since I have improved (greatly) I want to birdie every single hole, which is not the right attitude. Mainly, what I want to know is what a some good mental thoughts to fix all of this?
I have been playing golf now for just over 4 months. I feel like I am improving each time I practice. Can you guys give me some honest feedback. I would love to hear anything good, or bad. I know I need to improve and I just need your help. Thanks a lot. Here is my swing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDdgcSuWyj4
